Another Swap!! We had our monthly club meeting, now known as *aRt*pArTy*!!, this week. Marti was hostess, and the theme was "Paris, je t'aime" (I love Paris), and we had a little crepes bar... spinach souffle, sauteed mushrooms, bechamel sauce, ham, and cheese were the dinner fillings, and for dessert fillings we had raspberries, strawberries and chocolate!!
We swapped cones and I received this gorgeous cone from Ginger, filled with lovely things. We also made these beautiful chandelier drops:
(My adorable daughter and son-in-law in front of the LOVE sculpture in NYC.)
We all had a blast at Paper Tales' Valentine Swap on Friday! There were about 15 of us, and it was so fun to see what everyone created. I received this lovely necklace from Julie, who coincidentally received my Valentine cone (we drew numbers). Take a look at their blog for more pictures.
We had lovely things to eat and drink... who wouldn't love eating, drinking, swapping and shopping?!! A good time was had by all... I hope we can get together and swap projects on a regular basis.
I did a tour of the local thrift shops for the first time in a long while, really since way before Christmas. Actually the pickings were quite slim, but for a very determined shopper like me, there were a few gems:
I just love that little Napco chickie bursting from her egg, and the pieces of handmade lace were bundled together in a plastic bag for 25 cents!! Diamonds in the rough! And some vintage crocheted potholders, always love to find those!
