Thrift Store Thursday

Well, I am making up for lost time here. For the first time in weeks, I made a tour of the local thrift shops, and am thrilled with my little haul. Look at the cute little celery salt and pepper shakers with their smiling faces, marked Japan on the bottom.
The orange and red pepper dishes seem like Pyrex, but are not marked.

These cute little crocheted dress potholders were sitting there on a shelf just waiting for me!
Thanks for stopping by!

Postcards from Hawaii

Well. Southern California has had subpar weather for summer so far.
Gray gloomy mornings.
A little too cool to stay outside after 7 p.m.
without a sweater or light jacket.
This won't do.

I want summer! I want warm summer nights!

I know a place where it's always summer!

I don't surf, but if I did, I'd want to have one of these pretty surfboards handpainted by North Oahu artist Ron Artis.

Every day when we returned to our room
there was new towel origami waiting for us!

We had a great time just kicking it on the Big Island.

Love, love, love tiki torches!!

And sunsets!

And tropical drinks!
Aloha!

Vintage Summer Swap!!

I have been waiting til I got back from vacation to write this post. The day before we left, I received THE MOST GORGEOUS package of summer goodies from my swap partner Marion in the
Vintage Summer Swap!

Truly a feast for the eyes and tummy, as Marion--pastry chef extraordinaire-- sent delicious cookies in fun summer flavors like watermelon, lemonade, ice cream sandwich,
and wonderful almond madeleines (which I love).
Here's a closer look at how beautifully everything was presented:

Thank you SO much Marion!!

Here's a little peek at what I sent to Marion:

Pretty good match, don't ya think? :)
I had so much fun with this swap, and hope to do it again next year!

Estate Sale Goodies!!

I had a great time at the estate sales today;
thought I would share my booty with you.

I just love these colorful vintage handkerchiefs:

Here are a tea towel, square tablecloth, and two gorgeous aprons! The pink one on the right is a sheer fabric, the colorful one on the left is so darn cute!!

Here's a closer look at the detail on the tablecloth,
it's on each of the four corners, sooo cute!

I just love this vanity mirrored tray,
and can never get enough vintage seam binding!

Check out the price on the seam tape--13 cents!
LOL, when's the last time you paid 13 cents for something?

Have a great weekend!!

Freebie Friday and Estate Sale Finds

Here's a sweet little family, including dear old Dad, for Father's Day.

Also wanted to share some of my booty from a lovely estate sale I went to this morning.

There were some old picture frames I deliberated too long on, and someone nabbed them. :( But I'm happy with my little haul. There's a felted wool Santa, lots of Shiny Brites (and lots of pinks!), some worn (but no stains) Christmas tea towels, lots of those honeycomb balls (they're silly but I like them!), and that pair of gloves has lots of tiny flowers individually sewn on...and I'm going to cut them all off, I can think of lots of things to do with them!

Have a great weekend!!
