Urban Barn Flea Market!

Hello Friends!  I just have a little bit of catching up to do here, and then it's on to some lovely picturesof the Urban Barn's monthly flea market. Is it too late to post pics of my egg-shaped Marie Antoinette ATCs?Oh, good!  This one has a little "jardiniere/gardener" theme going on:

This egg shape was so much fun to work with.

And Marie is always fun to play with!

The Urban Barn has a monthly flea market

that we have been meaning to get to for ages.

We finally made it to the March market,

and were so glad we did!

They even have little treats for you to eat!

Everything was so beautifully displayed,

inside, outside in back, and outside in front,

like these jumbles of lovely things

from Laura of Chaotic Soul Jewelry.

Yes, we left with less money,

but with an armload of lovely things!

It has become tradition in my family to go to Easter massat the Mission San Juan Capistrano

 

 and then brunch at El Adobe Restaurant, a California State Historical Landmark. It was originally an adobe home, built in 1797, and the Juzgado (court and jails) was added in 1812.The dungeon-like jail now serves as a wine cellar!    I hope you and your families all have a wonderfully Happy Easter!

Easter Tags, Freebies, and Altered Egg Cartons!

Hello Friends!

I'm late!  I'm late!  For a very important date! :)

I do have some Easter projects to share with you.
First up are the altered egg cartons I made for my partners in Cassandra's Easter Egg Carton Swap.
We had the choice of neutral, natural tones or pastels;
My partner Heather chose naturals, and this is the carton I made for her:

And inside the carton she will find... 

Paula, my other partner, chose pastel colors, so I made this for her:

 

And inside... 

This was such a fun swap, I've never altered an egg carton before!
But I loved the creamy look of paint on the carton,
even though it did suck up the paint and require two coats!

But that's what gave it the creamy look. I also made some Easter tags at a mini-crafting session with friends Marti and Rosa: 

I just love those little chickies!

Also embellished with tissue paper garland and german scrap.

Vintage Marketplace--Spring Edition!

I'm still glowing from the lovely Vintage Marketplace
we went to in Rainbow, CA!
Oh, what lovely things!  

Lilacs...a rare commodity here in Southern California...

Shabby pocket pillows stuffed with lovely things...

Tissue paper roses ...

It was such a beautiful Spring day...

It's just such an inspiring experience,

to be among people who treasure the same things you do.

And I love meeting and talking with the vendors.
