Haunted Computer! Halloween Card and Tag! Freebies!

Hello Friends!

My computer is haunted.
No, really.
I am working on a matchbox for
Vintage Dragonfly's matchbox swap,
and thought it would be cute to make a little
label for it that says "Magick".
OK, it's actually not my computer that's haunted,
it's my Paint Shop Pro program.
Which I will never give up, never!

But every time, and I mean every time
I type Magick into the text box,
it shuts the program down.
Every time.
Spooky, no?
I type Magic into the text box,
no problem.
I purposely misspell other words
to see if that's the problem, but no.
If anyone out there has PSP7
could you please try this and let me know what happens?
Many thanks.
Meanwhile, it's "Magic" for me,
but it's just not as cute.

Enough.

Here's a little card and tag I did
for a swap at A Swap for All Seasons:

Yeah, I'm not a creepy/gory Halloween kind of girl.

And some freebies for your Halloween crafting:

Mother's Day! Cards and Tags! Freebies!

Hello Friends!

Just a little post to share with you
the cards I made for Swap for All Seasons April swap.
The color this month was peach,
and the theme was Mother.
Now peach is not a color I work with very often,

so it was a fun challenge for me.

I sewed the images to lace and fabric then layered them onto the card and tag.

 A beautiful mother and child.

These cards and tags went to Deb.
This Mother's Day will be special because it will be my daughter's first as a mother!

Here are some freebies to use for your own Mother's Day cards:

Baby! Vintage Necklace! Freebies!

Hello Friends!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter!

Spring is here, but arriving a bit more slowly to my house
than to the rest of San Diego.
I admit...I am not an earth mother.
I am much better at buying garden tchotchkes than gardening.
Or making flowers out of paper and fabric than coaxing from the earth.

Wait a minute!

How did that cute little baby picture get in there?!
Clearly my 6 week old grandson has figured out how to hack into my blog
and feels that there are not enough pictures of him!
Well there he is, little aviator and future world explorer.
I guess I will have to change my password :)

My dear friend Terri, who also has a new baby grandson,
sent me the most wonderful surprise!
My heart skipped a beat when I opened her package
to find these lovelies from her:

She created this beautiful necklace, taking a picture of Colton from a previous blog post
and put it inside of a vintage watchface:

And this beautiful card,
Terri does dimensional like no one else:
I am so touched by her generosity of spirit.
How wonderfully thoughtful and beautifully executed.
I will wear this necklace often and proudly, Terri, thank you sooo much!

It seems to be baby season, so perhaps
you may like these freebies:

Bridal Shower! March Card and Tag Swap!

Hello Friends!
The themes for the Swap for All Seasons swap in March
were Spring and yellow.

I don't use yellow much in my crafting, but I love this image
that has just a splash of yellow.
I love the spring-y background and her wistful look.
I wanted to keep the card simple
and let the lovely lady be the star.
A bit of vintage lace and vintage millinery flowers:

And my tag:

They say April showers bring May flowers...

I was hoping the showers would wait until my shower was held...
I hosted a bridal shower at my home
for my daughter's lovely sister-in-law last week.
The sun was in and out but no rain!
The décor was organic, garden-y,
with a bit of herbs, yellow, burlap and chalkboard.  :)
Her sister and sister-in-law were the real hostesses,
I  did the décor
with a little help from the bubble girls
(flower girls who blow bubbles).

Nine year old Ainsley made the favors herself,
homemade bath salts (below).
Don't they look great?

I love how these champagne glasses look
lined up on the burlap ribbon:

One of the hostesses made these lovely little tags
with a different herb for each one
and the trait that the herb stands for (above).

The caterer made a beautiful table of delicious food:

I had fun making this photo op
with a French garden shop look :)

OK.  Now I'm ready for April showers!
We dearly need them in Southern California.

Some sunny freebies for you:

Valentines! Freebies!

Hello Friends!
Valentine's Day, yay!
I just love everything about Valentine's Day!
So of course I signed up for a number of swaps!

This card and tag I made for my Swap for All Seasons partner, Debbie:
I sewed the little banner on, and the "LOVE" is washi tape.
Debbie and I share a love of kitties, so of course I had to make her a kitty tag:

I went very red on this altered candy box for my partner Kris
in a MAMA swap:
Of course it's stuffed with goodies!

I made this tag for another swap in my MAMA group,
a fabric and lace tag:

I don't know why, but it looks more tea-dyed than it actually is...
the colors are much subtler in real life,
and the girl is bluer...
and I can't retake the pic because I already sent it to Terri  :)
I'm enjoying incorporating sewing into my paper projects,
I will be doing a lot more of that this year!

These are my valentines for my partners
in a MAMA Valentine Swap which I hosted:

Instead of an envelope I slipped them into a glassine bag
and sewed it shut with some little bits of fabric, lace and tape trims:
Soooo, that's what I've been up to,
aside from being on call for my very PG daughter.  :)
I went to a Newborn Baby Care class with her and my son-in-law.
I have to say, things have...not...changed a whole lot.
I did learn a few things, though.

Here's some cuties for your last minute valentine crafting:
