Paper Soiree, Book Bundles and Tags

Hello Friends!

Our little swap group Paper Soiree is shaping up quite nicely.
We've had two meetings and have met new friends,
sipped champagne,
and oh yes, swapped and created!
Michelle is the owner of Paper Tales and kindly lets us meet there.
She is also wonderfully talented and a member of the group!

I blogged and posted a pic of my altered journal for the first swap here.
We sipped champagne with lavender simple syrup
and munched on lavender shortbread and lemon bars.
Then we made book bundles for our make-and-take,
here is mine:

Embellished with burlap and muslin roses
and lavender and hydrangea from my garden.

We've met for the second time and swapped lovely cones
filled with artsy goodies, this is the cone I made.
It's not a great pic as I shot it indoors,
and I much prefer natural outdoor lighting.

topped with muslin roses, and embellished with one of my fave images
from the Graphics Fairy:

And further embellished with vintage lace, a vintage beaded earring and festooning.

Our make and take this month was shabby chic French perfume label tags:

Here's a little freebie if you'd like to make one yourself:

Our next swap is based on a little banner I made for Marti,
who had a birthday in June.
We're a little obsessed with all things French,
so this little banner spells OUI!
However, with all the GLITTER on this banner,
it was difficult to photograph,
here are my two attempts:

Again, it was indoors, so not a great shot.

And lastly, some very sad news.  My sweet, sweet little kitty has settled down for her final nap.

(BTW, this picture is of her actually napping.)

I am heartbroken and miss her soooo much.
She was my little baby.
But she lived a good, long life (21 yrs!)
and was so loved by many.
She chose us to be her family, and she truly was family.

Take care of each other!

Vignettes Summer Fete

Hello Friends!

Yes, I admit it, I took last week off, played hooky, lazed around...
But I've been taking my responsibilities as kitty care-giver very seriously...
It's a full time job just trying to keep up with her...
Or at least trying to find her latest sleeping places :)

Oh well, I guess at 21 (102 in cat years) it's respectable to sleep 23 hours a day!
And anywhere you happen to find yourself!

I am so behind with pics and freebies;
right now I would like to share with you the photos from
Vignette's fabulous Seaside Summer Fete!
Heather Bullard was there
signing copies of her new magazine, Souvenir.

The name Vignettes truly describes this store,
as everything is so beautifully displayed in vignettes throughout the store.
For this fete the store was decked out in coastal/boho/shabby/french chic!  :)
Roll camera:

Oooh.....

Aaaah...

And it was at this point that the battery in my camera was "exhausted".
I did take some pictures with my phone which I have not downloaded yet,
I will do that next week and if "blog-worthy", I will post them :)

It was truly a lovely day which I got to share with my BFF Brenda,
who was visiting in San Diego from Tucson that weekend.
Hopefully the lovely times we had together
will spur a return visit soon!

Freebies!!

December Countdown!

Just a quick little post and freebie.
NYC trip delayed a couple of days due to

Oh, sure, she looks all cute and innocent,
but she started acting up and gave us a worry.
It was quite effective,
so now we won't be staying there as long.

I wanted to share this beautiful little box
that my wonderful friend Marti made for me:

I LOVE it!!

Also, I made this illuminated altered matchbox
for my Secret Santa in my Art Party group:

And lastly, some favorite freebies for you:

Pink Saturday!

Pink Saturday!
I have been wanting to get it together to join in on this for awhile--
who doesn't love PINK?
I thought I'd show you another car I made for my circus wagon:

It seems like I am seeing vintage circus stuff everywhere now!
Stampington featured them in their
Creative Impulse newsletter last week.
And have you visited Michaels dollar bin lately?
All manner of supercute vintage circus items:
notecards, journals, stamps, treat bags, etc.
If you want to get in on the circus (band)wagon, check it out!
But grab a coupon first! :)

Here's a little Pierrette
that I pinked up for you:Click, right click and save!
Please visit How Sweet the Sound for more Pink Saturday inspiration!

Have a great weekend!
