Nature's Blessings Art Journal! Freebies!

Hello Friends!

I am delighted to be participating in the
"Nature's Blessings" Art Journal Swap,
hosted by Karla Nathan of "Karla's Cottage".

 We were to make a four page layout
with any nature theme,
with plenty of space for journaling and doodling..

I chose "birds" as my theme.
I think this page has lots of space for journaling:

 I added the bow and trim for texture.

Pages 2 and 3.

There is space on page 2,

and when you lift up the top page,

there are a couple of blank pages underneath.

Page 3 is a page ripped from 

The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady,

with a glassine envelope

filled with tags for journaling.

Page 4 has two pockets for tags
and space around the page for journaling.

 

 

 And here are all six of them,
ready for mailing.

        I'm going to miss them!  :)

It's April! Fairy Jar! Freebies!

 Hello Friends!

It's April!



Yes!
 And my across-the-street neighbor's front yard looks like this:

Flowers everywhere!

Even window shopping at the mall:

 

Yes, I have been doing a little creating as well as window shopping.  :)

Spring is peak season for fairies, as they are out and about in the garden.

I have always wanted to capture one and keep her forever in a jar. 

But that wouldn't be nice.

So I made this little fairy in a jar to keep me company:

 I used a mix of mosses, papery flowers, mushrooms, butterfly wings
and a Dresden pink crown.  And lots of fairy dust!
I covered the jar lid with some burlap trim to keep the woodsy look.
Added more moss and a nest and little birdie on top.

Marie in a Teacup and ATCs!

Hello Friends!

It's another Pink Saturday!!As promised, I am sharing the very lovely teacup that Kris made for me in the Marie's Teacup Garden Party Swap.
It's sooooo beautiful!! And Limoges!!Isn't Marie cute with fairy wings?

I love the color combination, aqua and lavender.

Thank you so so much Kris!  I had so much fun with this swap,searching for the right teacup and creating my little vignette.And then to receive such a lovely teacup garden partyin return is the icing on the cake!! OK.I think I must share the Marie Teacup ATCsI made for our monthly ATC swap at MAMA.They're not atually teacups,but they're pretty cute.I must confess to a flight of whimsy on these :)

Soo much fun to create! And now, since it is May, and lilies-of-the-valley are the flower of the month,I'd love to share some lovely images of this sweet flower with you.Also called muguet in French,they are part of a charming custom in France.Every May 1, one would take a little bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley,available from the many flower peddlers on the street,to all the important ladies in their life--mothers, wives, aunts, girlfriends, grandmothers, etc. I have always loved this flower,my grandmother had a huge bunch growing all along her back fence, where it was shady and moist. So here are some muguets for you, dear readers:
