Freebie Friday on Wednesday!

I apologize for being late with last Friday's Freebie, but I was out of town to visit my dear son-in-law, who just had extensive jaw surgery. He is doing well, and my daughter is doing a terrific job nursing him, but complete recovery will take time and patience.

Even so, it was beautiful in Santa Barbara, with its cool, misty mornings and bright, sunny afternoons. Look at these beautiful bougainvilleas:

Ocean Beach

Yesterday was a gloriously beautiful sunny day, and I headed down to Ocean Beach, with its shell shops, antique malls, and cute little boutiques to see what I could find for my vintage vacation swap partner.


I don't even know who my partner is yet, but I have a theme in mind, and I'm the kind of girl who takes a theme and runs with it! Well, I do not know how Vignettes--a fabulous shoppe stocked (a truly gauche term for the beautiful vignettes created by the various designer/dealers) with all manner of things vintage, French, shabby, sparkly, flowery, bejewelled--could have escaped my radar for so long!!


There are rooms and rooms of wonderful antique, vintage and handmade items, you can just breathe in the inspiration!

Freebie Friday -- Happy Memorial Day!!

I must say that watching the Pacific series on HBO has given me a renewed respect for those who have given in service to our country. So have a great weekend, and remember to remember them!

Hatitude

Our monthly ATC/ETC club met this week, and the theme for this month was HATs! We decided to make a tea party of it and decorate our own hats, and what fun!! I don't know if there was something in the tea, but everybody got their creativity on! Here's some pix of our lovely "tea tasties":

Anniversaries and Patisseries

DH and I went to Las Vegas last week to celebrate our anniversary.

I love Vegas...I never gamble more than $6.00,

but I do love the restaurants, the pools, and the shows.

And I love to visit the Bellagio for their fabulous flower displays, the fountains, and Jean Phillipe Patisserie, mmm....
