Are you ready for more pinkness?

As promised, part deux of my photos of the
fabulous Vignettes' "Fifty Shades of Pink" Valentine soiree:

Since we actually went on the day before the fete, we had to miss out on Kaari Meng, who was appearing the next day.
And the champagne.  :(
But it was so, soooo lovely.   A dear follower has told me that although she doesn't speak French she has been to my blog enough times that she now knows the words to my first song and can sing along! I thought that was so cute!

My apologies for the font changes,
I have been on this computer FAR, FAR too long this morning
trying to fix it.
And it was scary at times...
I lost everything on my sidebar!!  :O
I got it all back,
but I did lose all the comments so far on this post :(
so now I think I am just...going to...leave it as is :)

Whimsies and Freebies!

  Hello Friends!

I'm still here!  I didn't really mean to disappear. 
I'm just slowly getting back into the swing of things...
a little thrifting and a little creating.

I don't have photos of my thrifty finds yet, but I do have pics of my newest creations. Now, you may or may not know that I sell collage sheets on Etsy.
See my little shop over there on the right? :)
So I designed a few new collage sheets,
and then I started playing with them,
and then these little cuties came to life!

   So I thought, hmmm.. I haven't sold any crafty things on Etsy or Ebay for ages, maybe I'll just give it a try! I'll be adding some new ones later in the week, if you'd like to take a peek :)   I just love vintage valentines, especially the whimsical ones from the 20s and 30s.    
I also like the corny phrases on them as well :D

Altered Christmas Bottle and Freebies!

Hello Friends!

Well, I guess I didn't quite make it to two posts in one week.
Oh, well.
I wanted to share with you a couple of projects
that I made for the MAMA group.
Now I have long wanted to try my hand at making an altered bottle.
So I jumped at the chance
and joined the "Bouteille de Noel" swap. 
A Christmas bottle!!
My partner was Terri, who makes beautiful things.
It actually took me a long time to get started.
I had a porcelain rose that I really wanted to use for the top.
I kept fussing and fussing; it took me a bit before I finally admitted
it just wasn't right for this project, this particular bottle.
Then everything started to fall into place.

I started with a vintage bottle and filled it with some vintage pearls, mica flakes and snowflakes:



I layered (mostly) vintage lace pieces on the front and added
the silver snowflake, brass piece and this cameo which I love:

And here is the back:



Together Marti and I made this lovely bag to send the bottle in:



And of course I received a beautiful bottle from Terri:



She used a mercury glass technique on the bottle that I'm going to have to try!
I just love it!

I was also in a Secret Santa Swap,
those are just so much fun! 
We were supposed to create a pretty muslin bag
and fill with a handmade ornament, giftie, and Christmas treats!!
This is my bag for my partner, Lisa:

 

I made her a pretty little fairy slipper ornament but forgot to take a picture :(
