Marie Antoinette in a Teacup!

Hello Friends!

Today is Pink Saturday around the blogosphere,
and I thought today might be a good day for me to join in the fun,
because I have a little alltered teacup to share with you.

The Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group is having a
Marie's Garden Tea Party swap,
in which you are to create a beautiful garden party in a tea cup for your partner.

My partner is Kris, who likes antique Bavarian china in pink and green colors for Spring.
I found the perfect teacup in the first shop I went to!!

 Antique!  Pink and Green!!  Bavarian!!!

Since this is the type of china Kris likes to collect,
I thought I would make the garden party removeable
and not permanently alter the teacup.

I did this by shaving my florist foam into cup form
and gluing two rows of leaves over it.
Then I glued the bottom of a peat pot to the bottom
so the little vignette could stand on it's own.

I then glued moss to the florist foam,
along with a garden variety of paper flowers and vintage millinery.
And a couple of  cute little pink mushrooms :)

I made a little garden arch by twisting two long wired
floral sprays together and shaping into an arch.
Which doubles as a handle to lift Marie out to play!  :)

And because a lady should look good from all sides,

Marie from the back!

I had so much fun creating this,
this group dreams up the most creative swaps!

I'll share the teacup garden party Kris makes for me next Teacup Tuesday!

Here's some lovely flowers for you:

Hello Lorraine,
What a pleasure to visit you and see your fabulous creation! The swap sounds so wonderful, and what you have created for your partner is just amazing! The tea cup is really special, and you were brilliant to make the art able to separate from it.
Thank you so much for sharing it for T.T.!
Hugs,
Terri

How delightful to have Marie and You come to my party!! My grandmother's middle name was Antoinette...first name Catherine..
and her last name...maiden was 12 letters long, and married was 10!
She always bemoaned the fact that you couldn't ever fit her full name on a line when filling out a form! Antoinette is so pretty...yours that is!
GORGEOUS cup..and you did it up beautifully!
Kris will LOVE it!
Blessings, and thanks so much for joining me!

Bonjour Lorraine! Thank you for visiting me, although after seeing your amazing, beautiful creations, I'm thinking milk and cookies was a bit TOO simple. Oh well...at least you are very inspiring to all of us:)

Lorraine....I LOVE your blog. Where have you been since I've been blogging the last 5 months. wow! And your Marie Antoinette tea cup is beautiful yet can be used as a tea cup the way you did it. How smart is that. I've been perusing your blog. I am following you but I don't know if I had signed up before. And I love your french music. Wish I had had it for my Parisienne luncheon. It would have been perfect. I too love Marie Antoinette things and my cupcakes are a little lame but honestly I ran out of time. I use to be a really great cake decorator but not anymore. I rarely do it now. Also as I read your bio I see that you live in So. Calif. I was born and grew up there. It has changed alot since then. But I still love to go back and visit. I especially miss the beach. I was a sun freak as a teen. I am going to sign up for your emails. I really like what you do.
