Surprise! Baby Shower! Valentines! Freebies!

Hello Friends!

Hope you all are thawing out out there in the East and Midwest!
We have been having some embarrassingly warm HOT weather here,
I feel like we've been stealing the sunshine!
But things are getting a bit more normal.
Which is to say, 70 degrees and sunny :)

I had the most wonderful surprise last week!
You may know that I am in a local craft group...
Our meeting last week was supposed to be our
yearly Valentine's party,
which is always a fun one, with pink and red and hearts, etc.
So I made my item for the swap,
which was to be a Valentine's Day banner:

And a sweet treat,
pink Rice Krispies hearts with an arrow:

And just cuz it looked so cute,
Caprese Salad with heart shaped mozzarella cheese:
 BUT, when I arrived.
instead of pinks and reds,
I was met with BLUE!!

My wonderful friends surprised me with a lovely
Grandma's Baby Shower!!
I hadn't suspected a thing,
although it was more than a month in the making!

Look at the wonderful decorations by Marti and Pam!
These adorable pinwheels:

This lovely banner which says "Welcome Grandson":

Look at these adorbs little boats:

Marti even enlisted the help of her husband and daughter
in the making of the banner and boats :)

There was champagne...well, to be honest, there's always champagne ;)
and the food was marvelous!
Chicken pot pies:

More cupcakes, pasta and cheese, ceviche, salad, fruit, cheeses and more!

I am sorry that I didn't take more pictures,
but I was quite overwhelmed!

Ooooh, and there were gifties!!
A Grandma's brag book, and all the most adorable papers and embellishments
I could ever want!
how adorable are these little baby shoes
that they made for me:

Crafted with paper and embellishments,
aren't they the cutest!!

It was a wonderful evening,
♥♥♥ thank you, lovely Ladies, so much! ♥♥♥
Baby is threatening to make an appearance any minute,
so my daughter is on bed rest.
This is my first grandchild,
who has been eagerly awaited for several years.
Very exciting!!

Congratulations, Lorraine! You will love being a Grandma. I've been in love with my granddaughter since she was born {3 1/2 years ago!}. That was so nice of your friends and I love the decorations they put together.

How very charming, in all aspects, and what a sweet way to honor a friend and her family line that's being carried on.

Cupcakes and pinwheels, shoes and sailboats, and all the clever touches---what a lovely party. It shows how much you're loved.

Well, I was going to start this comment saying you are TOO talented -- how I loved your Valentine banner and treats.

But NOW I think you are the MOST honored! What a wonderful surprise and how meaningful -- for your friends to pull off such a gala without your knowing is a tribute to their caring for you! Bravo and Happy Baby!

I am speechless! What a wonderful surprise for you! So many clever and creative elements in the decorations. So cute that all of your offerings were for the Valentine party you thought you were attending. I do love your banner! Congratulations on your impending entrance into Grandmotherhood! It will be the best job you've ever had!

Oh Lorraine what a wonderful group of friends. What a lovely surprise for the grandma to be. Love the little booties and your food, even though red looks dellish. The event decor looks lovely, they did a beautiful job. I would of cried, lol. Congratulations the coming baby, now that's a blessing.

Blogger seems to be playing up for me and I can't see all of your pics. I can just see a small bit of your banner, but it looks lovely.
Thanks for sharing with us at Make It Monday this week.
